Lanzarote is pure geology, undersea and lunar landscapes, clear waters, thirsty land, an oasis of palm trees, in harmonious coexistence of man and nature. No doubt it´s a land of contrasts.
It is the easternmost of the Canary Islands, is identified by the large number of volcanoes that extend it due to the volcanic activity of the early eighteenth century.
Lanzarote is situated at a distance of 1000 km from the Spanish Peninsula and 140 from the African coast. Has an area of 845.93 km. and a population of approx 135,000 inhabitants.
Puerto del Carmen
Puerto del Carmen, located in central-south of the island, 10 minutes from the international airport is the main tourist area of Lanzarote. It´s divided into 3 areas, Matagorda (closest to the airport), Central Puerto del Carmen (also known as the strip) and the Old Town (still has a traditional feel to the place).
